Values
Defining and living by a clear sense of purpose and
values is essential for sustainable leadership practices.
Purpose filled values provide a framework for decisionmaking, communication, and motivation that go beyond
what you do, they show who you are. They create a
foundation of trust and direction for both leaders and their
teams. To enhance one’s outlook, one must first know
what anchors them to the work and the people they wish
to inspire and lead. Leaders can begin to explore purpose
filled values by first asking themselves this question: In
what ways am I anchored to my purpose & values, and
how is that relevant to how I lead?
Leaders serve as role models, and the values they
embody have a profound impact on the organizational
culture. Reflecting on the importance of values allows
leaders to recognize how their actions and decisions
influence ethical behavior, shape the work environment,
and inspire individuals to align their actions with a shared
