appreciated that conversation and encouraged me to
continue being open about the various weights I carry.
Expressing vulnerability in private and in public, where
appropriate, permits others to do the same and is a great
way to bond and build relationships.
Unmanaged stress can have a significant impact on
leadership development in key ways. Leaders should be
aware of the key aspects of stress and work to manage
them effectively. By doing so, they can make sound
decisions, communicate effectively, avoid burnout, and
maintain strong relationships with their team members
and stakeholders. This will ultimately lead to more
effective leadership and a more successful organization.
The stress of leadership is often overlooked or
undervalued, but it is a crucial aspect of effective
leadership. Organizations and leaders of those
organizations are responsible for providing mechanisms
for managing organizational stress from the top down.
