To develop a strategic vision responsive to the
organization's culture and values, leaders must be able to
effectively communicate a clear vision to their teams. We
offer these steps as a basic guide:
1. Clarify the purpose and values of the
organization: The first step is to clearly identify the
purpose and values of the organization. This
includes understanding the organization's mission,
values, and goals and ensuring that they are aligned
with the needs of its stakeholders.
2. Assess the current state of the organization:
Once the purpose and values are clear, the next step
is to assess the organization's current state. This
involves analyzing the organization's strengths and
weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats
in the external environment.
3. Define the desired future state: Based on the
assessment of the current state, leaders should
define the desired future state of the organization.
This includes setting specific goals and objectives, as
well as identifying the key strategies and tactics that
will be used to achieve them.
