your why. In this knowing, you gain the courage to stand
during any storm and lead because your leadership is
necessary for that moment. Leaders are often called upon
to do the uncommon thing for the least likely person and
challenge the status quo by doing so. Leadership can take
you on many journeys, and the most profound and most
difficult journey to undertake is the journey within
yourself, to learn yourself, to know yourself, to trust
yourself, and most importantly, to be yourself. This is an
unending path for me because I’m evolving day by day.
A leader must be disciplined in their practiced of
leading because a disciplined leader understands what it
takes to overcome challenges, build alliances, and use
resources in new and innovative ways. A disciplined
leader has a clear picture of why they lead and, therefore, a
clear purpose that motivates them day in and day out. So
much can be learned from a disciplined leader as they can
stare the unknown in the face and remain focused,
determined, and purposeful. They are driven to succeed by
the challenge of what lies in front of them, with an
undeniable belief in their ability to get things done. It is
