Developing and deploying flexibility in the culture
strategy in your organization requires a deliberate and
intentional effort by leaders. I invite you to consider
evaluating these steps:
1. Understand the current state of the
organization or workgroup: Leaders need to assess
the current state of their organization to determine
the areas where rigid inequities exist. This includes
analyzing the organization's policies, practices, and
culture to identify any biases or systemic barriers
that may be hindering the organization's efforts to
become more flexible.
2. Define the desired state: Once leaders have
identified the areas of rigidity, they must define the
desired state of the organization and where its flex
points reside. This includes setting clear goals and
objectives for creating a more adaptable workplace.
3. Develop an action plan: Leaders must create
an action plan that outlines the steps required to
achieve the desired state. This includes identifying
the resources required, setting timelines, and
assigning responsibility for each action item. It also
