Chapter 4: From Vision to Empathy
Great leaders possess certain qualities that set them
apart from those who claim titles over substance. We will
now identify some of the tests and traits that can make a
leader exceptional, including vision, integrity, empathy,
and strategic thinking.
Leadership is a multifaceted concept that encompasses
a wide range of traits, skills, and behaviors. However, the
journey to leadership is not an easy one. Leaders will
inevitably face challenges, adversity, and testing, which
will challenge them and push their moral character to the
limits.
Vision is an essential qualification for successful
leadership. Without a clear vision, leaders and their
followers will lack direction and purpose. A leader with
vision can see beyond the present and envision a better
future for their organization, their work group, or
community. They can inspire and motivate a diverse group
of individuals to work towards a common goal while also
providing a roadmap for how to get there. Leaders
